Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are in formative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses. In this regard Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) announces Institution’s Innovation Council to foster the innovation and startup eco-system in the departments, university and affiliated colleges.

IIC – SKU aims at enabling SKU to build, streamline and strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem in campus and will be instrumental in leveraging the potential of science & technology, students’ creative problem solving and entrepreneurial mind-set, and promoting a strong intra and inter-institutional partnerships with ecosystem enablers and different stakeholders at regional, national and international level. IIC – SKU plays a key role in identifying, mentoring, nurturing innovative and entrepreneurial potential of students, faculty and staff and transforming them into start-up entrepreneurs by provided avenues of funding, investment opportunities and networking support to make the innovation and venture successful

To cultivate the innovation ecosystem in the university to harness the entrepreneurial potential of the young minds. To outreach and identify student innovators, promote and support them to evolve sustaining business models. To help entrepreneurs create technology-based products and services leading to job creation for strengthening the regional and national economy.

To facilitate development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the organization. To support and develop minimum of 10 startups or innovative ideas with all amenities per year for the first 5years.

To support the innovative ideas from idea stage to prototype/MVP/Market Ready stage. To develop a bilateral and multilateral channel with national and international innovation clusters and other relevant organizations To create soft and hard infrastructure that support the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the University.
